Belle Plain Caboose: Couples Retreat w/Fishing!

We had a great time on David’s ranch and in the caboose. The property is peaceful and surrounded by wildlife and some livestock. We even had some cattle come visit by us the morning we checked out. Can’t beat having access to the water stops from the back door. The caboose was cleverly repurposed and has all of the amenities you could imagine. The screened in porch with grills and outdoor kitchen was amazing. David and his partners were wonderful hosts. We will definitely be staying here again when we need a peaceful weekend away.

El Escondido! An Enchanting Family Adventure

Lovely. We (first cousins) are now in our 70’s and 80’s, but still enjoyed the beauty, privacy, amenities and peacefulness of this property. One cousin’s daughter/husband also stayed with us and were enchanted by it all. Great place! The stairs to bedrooms/baths may eventually be too difficult, but for now we were perfectly content! 💕

Wonderful place, we absolutely loved it. Home was beautiful and unique, everything was taken care of, and everyone was right about those cookies. Oh my goodness. 🤩 We had a 3-year-old with us who is pretty chill, so it was fine for us, but be aware of breakables if you have more rambunctious kids. We millennials absolutely loved being able to watch Disney movies on VHS with her though, and there were books for kids available too. Short drive to Dyess if you’ll be visiting there, location was great for that. Overall, highly recommend, no complaints at all!

Excellent stay while back visiting family in Abilene! The house is spacious and plenty of room to spread out. House is well stocked, everything you need for cooking a meal is there; the bedrooms were nice and comfortable as well as the bathrooms. Back porch overlooking the lake was peaceful and beautiful! Great stay and highly recommended!

Ann was very helpful and awesome at communicating. This place was very clean, had all of the amenities described and a lot more. The kids had a great time with a game table she had. Beds were really comfortable, AC, water heater, kitchen, washer/dryer, stove, everything worked perfectly fine. Thank you Ann for allowing me and my family spend the weekend at your house.

Great place to stay for two small families. It was a quick one night stay, but it has everything we needed and the host was flexible with our check in time. The rooms were great—clean and free of clutter. Also nice neighborhood and loved the option to keep our cars in the garage. Thank you!
